Zirconium Reinforced Porcelain
Porcelain teeth with zirconium substructure are generally used in procedures such as prosthetic completion, correction, and smile design of anterior teeth.
While it provides favorable results aesthetically, it also provides robust functionality in use.
In this system, zirconium alloy, which is white in color, is used instead of metal as the substructure. The biggest advantage of the system is that it provides a full aesthetic appearance on bridges together with the durability it provides. The reason why it is more successful aesthetically is that the light transmittance of zirconium is better than metal. In this way, it is more feasible to achieve the desired color tone. In addition, the discoloration that occurs on the gingival levels of metal-reinforced porcelain over time does not occur in these prostheses.
