Space Maintainers
These fixed and removable appliances, applied to preserve the location of the lost primary teeth, are called space maintainers.
This procedure fills the gap that occurs in the case of primary tooth loss due to decay or different reasons, and ensures that the primary teeth remain in place without slipping and displacing until the permanent teeth completely replace them in the mouth.
Attachable and removable space maintainers are prepared suitable for children's mouths.
Children can easily adapt to space maintainers in the mouth within a few days.
There are two types of space maintainers, removable and fixed.
The most important point when starting and continuing the treatment is that the space maintainers are not dislocated by finger or tongue after they are attached. After the end of the treatment, removable space maintainers can be removed without any difficulty, while fixed space maintainer must be removed by the dentist.
It should be noted that space maintainers prevent future orthodontic problems by keeping the teeth in their normal position.
